A 22-BORE (.600) PERCUSSION DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING CARBINE, serial no. 7013,
circa 1840, with browned twist iron 21in. rifled side by side barrels, broad raised plain flat top-rib signed 'H. TATHAM, 37 CHARING CROSS, LONDON', blued dove-tailed blade fore-sight (currently reversed in its dove-tail), long elevating blued 1000yd. ladder rear-sight with central platinum line, martial trophy engraved to rib-end at breech. platinum plugs, fully engraved top-tang, border and scroll engraved locks signed 'H. TATHAM' on the bar and featuring an engraving of a stand of arms forwards of both hammers, refinished chequered walnut butt-stock with engraved iron spur to the heel-plate, re-blued trigger guard, the bow engraved with a prowling lion and original brass-mounted steel ramrod
